Helen Gorman (Director and Co-Owner) joined Perfect Motion in 2002. She has a communications and journalistic background, having worked as part of the Amateur Swimming Association's communications team during the 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Helen leads all media communications, PR and publicity projects at Perfect Motion, having worked on campaigns for, The Tour of Britain, The Salford Triathlon World Cup, The European Junior Swimming Championships, The FIVB Junior World Beach Volleyball Championships, Concept 2, British Swimming, British Cycling, Blue Seventy and UK Sport. Helen is a former international athlete and spent three years in the United States on a full swimming scholarship. She continues to lead by example having completed L'Etape du Tour and competes regularly in triathlon, cycling and masters swimming events.
Chris Simon (Director and Co-Owner) joined Perfect Motion in 2003 after eight years in the gaming and leisure market. Chris manages the business side of Perfect Motion as well as leading all event planning, organisation, marketing and sponsorship projects. He has worked on projects including, The Great Notts Bike Ride, Pedal for Scotland, The Victoria Trophy (football), The British Cyclosportive, The Bath Half Marathon, The Robin Hood Festival of Running, The Tour of Britain, The Women's Six Nations, the British Canoe Union and New Balance. Chris is also responsible for introducing touchrugby to the Midlands which has created a player base of over 800 in Nottingham, Derby and Leicester. He continues to play rugby (touch) and balances his interest in running, cycling and events with a young family.
Jo Pockett (PR Account Manager) joined Perfect Motion in 2006 to support the PR team. She is responsible for formulating features and articles for a broad range of clients including Sport England East Midlands, New Balance and Loughborough Lightning netball team. Jo also composes bespoke features for magazines and copy for various websites. After graduating from Leeds Metropolitan University in 2004 with a 1st class honours degree in Public Relations, she began her career with a business to business PR and marketing agency in Nottingham city centre, handling accounts in a variety of sectors. In 2005, Jo embarked on a year long trip around the world, which included a stop in Melbourne to work at the Commonwealth Games. Jo is trained in ballet and many other forms of dancing. Since joining Perfect Motion she has become a keen cyclist, touchrugby player and runner, taking part in a variety of events.
Nicola Hodson (Finance Manager) joined Perfect Motion in February 2007. She is responsible for the company accounts, payroll and commercial fundraising. Nicola has over 10 years experience in business and finance, seven of which at a strategic level. She has worked in blue chip organisations, local government, national charities and more recently in a private film and media company. Nicola is a keen tennis player and has just qualified for the mixed doubles final of the Save the Children corporate tournament. Nicola also enjoys badminton, which she played to national level as a junior. In her free time Nicola runs and cycles, taking part in many sporting events from the London Marathon and Triathlon to the Robin Hood Fun Run. Since joining Perfect Motion Nicola has been playing in the Nottingham Touchrugby league. With any spare time left she enjoys going on winter holidays skiing and snowboarding.
Nik Emmonds (Marketing & Events Co-Ordinator) joined the Perfect Motion team in May 2008 to support the Events and Marketing side of the business. He graduated from the University of Derby with a First Class Honours degree in Media Writing and Theatre Studies. He is responsible for the provision of sales and marketing services and assists with the co-ordination of many of the company’s events including 24seven and The Victoria Trophy. He also oversees the Sporting Advocates Programme. Nik played representative rugby and captained Nottingham Rugby Club throughout his formative years. These days his sporting endeavours are more varied and he has developed a slight obsession with Table Tennis. A sucker for punishment, Nik is also a keen Newcastle United supporter.
Chloe Chaplin (PR Account Manager) joined the Perfect Motion team in July 2009 to support the PR and Media aspects of the business. She is responsible for delivering media coverage and PR for a variety of clients including Concept2 and Sport Nottinghamshire. Chloe graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a First Class Honours Degree in Public Relations and has previously worked in the tourism sector. Away from the office, Chloe is learning how to speak Italian, as well as discovering the art of belly dancing!

In the sport of triathlon, we work with One Step Beyond Promotions, helping the team to maximise entries, profile and publicity for their portfolio of events across the country. In the outdoor adventure sector we work with experts TrailPlus. The organisation specialises in creating and delivering superior events to the rapidly growing adventure challenge market.
Very Berry was established in 2009 by Perfect Motion founder Melanie Berry. Mel set-up Perfect Motion in 2001, helping to create a leading sports marketing, media and events organisation, but decided to go it alone in March 2009. She has since set up Very Berry which continues to provide services to Perfect Motion in sports strategy and marketing consultancy. |
