Clumber

Nottinghamshire’s Clumber Park will once again host the popular Clumber Classic Duathlon race this March.

The event, which involves running and cycling, has previously attracted stars such as James Cracknell to the Park, and will take place on 24 March.

It is open to athletes of all standards to enter and usually attracts a large entry from Nottingham and Mansfield clubs in particular. Participants can take part on any road-worthy bike – mountain bikes are a common site at the event, alongside expensive carbon road and time trial machines.

The Classic distance covers a 10km run, 40km cycle and 5km run, whilst the sprint event covers half of those distances. The run course is on closed roads around the park and quiet country roads around it. The park itself offers over 20miles of traffic-free cycle routes, offering an ideal day out for all the family.

Entries are open and available on http://www.onestepbeyond.org.uk.

The sold out Cambridge Half Marathon has attracted a headline sponsor; Saucony.

The running specialists will sponsor the event, which takes place in the city on 11 March and is raising money for Cancer Research UK.

3000 runners will take to the streets of Cambridge, covering a 13.1 mile route that circles the city over two loops and finishes with an out and back along the River Cam.  The event starts on Victoria Avenue and finishes on Midsummer Common.

Saucony has a range of award winning running shoes and apparel, which will be available to buy on the day at the event expo.

Saucony joins the already-confirmed event partners, Anglia Ruskin University, Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital and Cambridge Property Lettings.

Anyone interested in becoming a partner of the event should email cambridge@onestepbeyond.org.uk
