General public entries for the 2012 Bath Half Marathon have now closed after selling out over the weekend.

For those who haven’t yet signed up, there is still chance to enter through the charity Golden Bond scheme or the Corporate Challenge for business teams.

A total of 12,000 places have now sold for the annual event, which never fails to sell out. The Bath Half, which will take place on 11 March 2012, is one of the biggest and most loved races in Britain, attracting runners from all over the UK and abroad, as well as a significant local contingent.

The Bath Half Marathon is one of the largest charity fundraisers in the South West region, raising a record sum of £1.5million pounds in 2011 for over 50 different local and national charities. A number of golden bold entries are still available for those wishing to run for one of the Bath Half Marathon official charities for 2012.

The Lead Charity for the 2012 event is Guide Dogs for the Blind.  RUH Forever Friends Appeal is the Featured Race Appeal; Quartet Community Foundation, serving an area including Bath and North East Somerset is the race’s Local Charity of the year; and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) has been confirmed as the charity for the 2012 Fun Run. Details of how to sign up for a golden bond place are available on www.bathhalf.co.uk.

Entries are also still open for the Family Fun Run and the Corporate Challenge for business teams. Entry to the race is through the race website at www.bathhalf.co.uk  where details for the race charities can also be found, or by calling 01225 422 255.
